Bank Accounts: Business or Personal?

Inscribe will automatically assign a Bank Account as either personal or business based on the following criteria:

  • Bank Account Name: If the bank account name contains business identifiers (e.g. Business Account 24/7), it will be classified as a business account. Similarly, the account will be classified as a personal savings account if it contains savings identifiers (e.g. Advanced Savings Account). Otherwise, the account will be set as a personal account.
  • Parsed Name: If the name associated with the document contains business signifiers (such as Acme Inc, or Sample Company LLC) it will be set as a business account.

What effect does Bank Account type have on Credit Analysis outputs

If the bank account is a business bank account, transactions will never be categorized as SALARY. Similarly, if the bank account is a personal bank account, transactions will never be categorized as REVENUE.

Can a Bank Account be manually set to Business or Personal?

Yes. A common use case for this is sole proprietor bank accounts. All indicators may point to the fact that the account is personal, however, you may want to receive REVENUE Credit Analysis outputs. To enforce that a customer is a business entity, set the company argument when creating the customer.
